Eduard Wiiralt was born in 1998. He began to study graphics while studying at the Revel School of Industrial Art. Since 1919, he studied sculpture at the famous Pallas School, and then went to improve his skills at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden.
In 1925 he got the opportunity to study in Paris, where he lived until the outbreak of World War II, and then returned to Estonia, where he stayed until 1944, after which he moved to Austria.
In 1946 he returned to Paris, where he lived until his death. His paintings were kept in France until Harri Männil, a Venezuelan businessman with Estonian roots, returned the paintings back to his homeland in 1996.Today they are kept in his personal gallery at the Estonian National Library. And many of the artist’s works are presented in the online sale of paintings by Rios Art Gallery.
