Erik Hamer (1908 – 1994)

Erik Hamer was born on February 17, 1908 in Kuressaare. At the age of 27 he graduated from the famous Pallas School, where Adolf Wabbe was its leader. During the Second World War, he taught at the School of Applied Arts in Tallinn, and then fled to neutral Sweden. In 1955 he left the academic art and became a freelance artist.
Known for paintings with epic stories, which depicted the life of people on the seashore or the relationship between man, nature and society.
