Ilmar Kimm (1920 – 2011)

Ilmar Avgustovich Kimm was born on March 1, 1920. In 1939 he entered the faculty of painting at the Institute of Sculpture, Painting and Architecture. Repin. His graduation work was – “Rest on the March”, for which he was awarded the status of an artist painter.
He joined the Union of Artists of the Soviet Union in 1963. He gained his fame while teaching at the Tallinn State Art Institute, where he received the title of professor. Ilmar Kimm worked for a long time as the head of the department of painting. Received the title of Honored Art Worker of the ESSR.
Ilmar Kimm died in 2011 in Tallinn.
