Measuring 45 x 35cm, this work represents Johani’s prowess in visual art, acquired from the esteemed Pallas Art School. Johani’s art education spanned over several years, from 1926-1929 and then again in 1931-1933, under the mentorship of P. Aren and A. Vabbe. This particular piece of art was conceived during the 1930s, showcasing the artist’s unique style honed during his formative years in Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam, courtesy of a grant. The beauty of this piece is the portrayal of a “Naked” figure, a raw and bold subject, rendered beautifully in Johani’s signature style.
