Graduated from the “Pallas” Art School, Elmar Kits is one of the renowned painters of Estonia. Elmar Kits graduated from the “Pallas” Art School in 1939 (studio of Ado Vabbe). A reader since 1947, he was awarded the honorary title of the People’s Artist of Estonian SSR in 1971.Elmar Kits is an outstanding representative of the “Pallas” Art School. In his art he would use all genre-paintings – from monumental to book illustrations. And he never sacrificed his principles during the the Soviet period in art policy. One can see the reproduction of this work in the “Elmar Kits – Phenomenon” Catalogue (Tartu 1994 nr. 531).
