Heldur Laretej is an Estonian graphic artist and book illustrator.
Heldur Laretej studied with Paul Luhtein and Evald Okas at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Estonian State Institute of Art, from which he graduated with Peeter Ulas, Gerald Elma, Sylvia Luiberg and Olav Maran in 1959. Laretheus’ dissertation was represented by a series of woodcuts for Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In the 1960s and 1970s free graphics were cultivated in Estonia.
Heldur Laretey is known as a book graphic artist who illustrated about fifty books.
