In 1950–1953 he worked in the decorations section of the Artistic Products Combination, in 1952–1959 in the Estonian State Publishers and Newspapers and Magazines (as a non-public artist) and in 1960–1981 in the editorial office of Täheke. From 1981 he worked as a freelance artist. He was a member of the Estonian Association of Journalists since 1961 and a member of the Estonian Artists’ Association since 1967.
He has illustrated children’s books with cheerful decorative drawings
