Studied in St.Petersburg. After graduating from the eminent Shtiglits School he continued learning from artists in London, Paris and Brussels. Typical of his art were the national and fantastic motifs, always romantic.
First exhibition in Tartu in 1909, then St.Petersburg, Helsinki, Narva.
