Paul Rosen studied in 1972-78 at the ST. Petersburg Academy of Arts and in 1983-86 in Düsseldorf Academy of Arts where his preceptor was professor E. Dücker. After that he painted as a liberal painter in ST. Petersburg and Baltic. In 1891-1919 he lived in Riga. Baron Rosen taught in Polytechnic Institute of Riga painting, where he was since 1896 as an assistant professor and after that professor. In 1919 he traveled to Germany.
