The artist was born in Polokwaniris (Before Pietersburg) South Africa, where he studied at the Department schedules. Since 1914 he lived in Berlin. After World War I enrolled in the Berlin School of Applied Arts, in the department of painting and book graphics. After the Second World War, he continued his studies art in several art schools in Berlin.
