The album contains the portraits of known writers and critics, such as Jules Michelet, Jules Barbey d`Aurevilly, Charles-Augustin de Sainte-Beuve, Charles Nodier, Gustave Fauriel, Pierre-Simon Ballanche, Desire Nisard, Philarete Chasles. The graphics were made in deep print technique by famous graphic artists, such as Georges Gorvel, Pierre Gandon, Constant Le Breton;
also it contains 17 initials and vignettes in woodcut technique made by Paul Jacob-Hians.
