Valerian Tynovich Loik was born in 1904 in the town of Revel, Estland Province. In 1935 he graduated from the well-known art school Pallas, the workshop of Abo Vabbe. After he went to France and Italy to improve his skills.
He is called a master of painting, urban landscapes and still lifes. He regularly participated in Moscow and Estonian exhibitions. He was a member of the Union of Artists of the Soviet Union. He taught at the Art Institute of Tallinn, where he received the title of professor. He was an honored artist of the Estonian SSR.
Valerian Loik died in 1986 in Tallinn. Many of his works are kept in Estonian and Russian museums. And you can buy paintings by the Estonian artist at the Rios Art Gallery.
